But just as it bent down to drink, it slipped and fell into the water. The poor ant struggled to stay afloat and feared it would drown.

A dove sitting on a tree nearby saw what happened. Quickly, she plucked a leaf and dropped it into the water. The ant climbed onto the leaf and safely floated back to shore.

The ant thanked the dove with all its heart and promised to help her one day.

Days later, a hunter came into the forest and aimed his gun at the dove. Just as he was about to shoot, the ant bit his foot hard. The hunter missed his aim, and the dove flew away to safety.

The Thirsty Ant and the Dove (Long Story)

It was a hot afternoon in summer, and the sun was shining brightly. A small ant walked across the forest looking for water. After walking for a long time, it finally saw a little stream nearby. The ant rushed towards it and tried to drink.

As it leaned over, the ant slipped on a wet rock and fell into the stream. The water was flowing fast, and the tiny ant was carried away. It attempted to swim but was too small to make any progress. In its desperation, it cried for help, fearing it might drown.

Just then, a gentle dove sitting on a branch overhead noticed the ant struggling. The dove quickly picked a leaf with its beak and dropped it near the ant. The leaf floated down gently, allowing the ant to climb onto it. It was saved!

The ant waved at the dove and shouted, “Thank you!” and promised to help her one day. The dove nodded kindly and flew away.

A few days later, the ant saw the same dove resting on a tree branch. A hunter nearby was aiming his gun at her. The ant knew it had to do something. Quietly, it crawled up and bit the hunter’s foot. He jumped in pain, and the dove flew away before the shot was fired.

That day, the ant fulfilled its promise. The dove’s kindness had been returned.
